Dhaniram finally relents and produces the “Black Ledger.” He points to an entry from three weeks ago: Zain’s signature and thumbprint next to a transaction for the melting of a royal artifact.
Shehzad’s Distraction
Back at the palace, the neighboring Princess and her envoy arrive for the engagement feast. To keep the Queen Mother and Zain occupied, Shehzad pretends to be an enthusiastic groom. He organizes a “Traditional Hunt” in the palace forest, knowing it will keep the guards and Zain away from the main gates for several hours. During the feast, he subtly sabotages the palace’s communication lines, preventing the Queen Mother from receiving updates from her spies in the city.
The Ambush
As Noor leaves the jeweler’s shop with the ledger tucked under her arm, she is cornered in a dark alley by Zain’s personal henchmen. It turns out Zain had been tracking the jeweler’s shop for days. Just as they are about to seize the ledger and silence Noor, a mysterious masked rider intervenes. The episode ends with the rider pulling Noor onto their horse and galloping away, while the ledger falls to the ground in the middle of the street.
